I skipped two weeks without really even knowing. I think that means we were very busy over the holidays. We are so thankful that some of my family could join us for Christmas and we had a wonderful visit with them. The last time we had Christmas with them was 2012. I’m not sure I really ever thought about the behind the scenes of a pastor and his family on Christmas, but this year I really thought about all the pastor families I know. Christmas wasn’t as relaxing as prior years since our pastor husband/dad had services to run Christmas Eve and Christmas day. With my parents’ help we were able to open some presents with the kids and get our house presentable for a service in our home! We were thankful to find another facility for our Christmas Eve service and enjoyed having some guests. We think both services went really well and we enjoyed celebrating the birth of our Savior with our little church.
Since some of Josh’s family lives just up the road we were able to spend Christmas Eve with both sides of our family which was a first and very fun. My sister joined us after Christmas and my mom was happy to be able to celebrate her birthday with all her kids this year! Pretty sure the last time we did that was in 2012 too!We needed warm PJs to survive this Massachusetts winters! It’s been 6 years since we’ve had a 2 year old in our home, so we kind of forgot how smart, cute and funny a 2-year old can be. When she’s not doing things like waking us up in the middle of the night screaming or throwing her diaper and clothes because she refuses to get dressed, this kid is just so much fun! When it was time to leave for Makenna’s violin Christmas concert, Reagan asked for her violin. She’s not really playing yet, but Makenna’s teacher has been cute with her and gave her this loaner foam violin to practice holding it. Reagan loves to go to Makenna’s lesson and pays attention for a few minutes. Makenna and Connor have become such good friends to Reagan. Reagan has started saying “I following” when she wants to be with someone. So, the other morning she said “I following Makenna” shortly after waking up. This week Reagan said, “Connor’s a good boy” and “Connor’s a good brother for me”. Love their blooming friendships! Thanks to Michele Axelson who attended the Gabadi Mark dedication while Josh needed to be in the US, we can share photos of it. The day also marked the farewell for one of the pastors who was being moved after serving there 3 years. The village chief had thought it would be special for dedicating Mark to be his last ‘official’ act before leaving, since he had been supportive of the work. They sold out of the 168 copies set aside for that village!
